Recently, I had the opportunity to create a flyer for Abington Court, highlighting the newly opened dementia care section. This task not only allowed me to demonstrate my design skills but also provided a deeper understanding of the services and amenities offered by Abington Court, specifically for dementia care.
The process began with gathering information about the dementia care services. Abington Court is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and social environment for residents with dementia. They offer a range of purpose-driven activities designed to keep residents engaged and mentally active. The gentle persuasion approach ensures that each resident feels understood and cared for, which is vital for their well-being.
Creating the flyer was an educational journey. I learned about the unique features of Abington Court’s dementia care. The memory living area is thoughtfully designed with a secure wing that includes a private dining/activity area, flooded with natural light. Daily trips to a spacious, enclosed green space are part of the routine, providing residents with a serene and stimulating environment.
The comprehensive care offered at Abington Court includes a Snoezelen multi-sensory environment, relationship-rich care, medication administration, and mobility assistance. They even have an in-house family doctor, ensuring that all health needs are promptly addressed. The attention to detail and the variety of services available are truly impressive.
After understanding the facilities, I focused on creating a visually appealing and informative flyer. I wanted it to reflect the warmth and support that Abington Court provides. The final design showcased key aspects like purpose-driven activities, gentle persuasion approach, and a secure, beautiful environment.
This project was more than just a design task; it was a learning experience about dementia care. It highlighted the importance of creating a supportive and engaging environment for those with dementia. Abington Court’s dedication to dignity, respect, and comprehensive care truly stands out. I am proud to have contributed to showcasing their exceptional services through the flyer.
