One year in Canada

Celebrating One Year in Canada: A Journey of Transformation

A year ago, I embarked on a life-changing journey, moving from India to Canada. As an introvert, the thought of starting anew in a foreign country was daunting. However, reflecting on the past 365 days, I am amazed at how much I have grown and evolved.

Upon my arrival in Canada, I faced numerous challenges. Learning to cook was a significant milestone, especially since I had never done it back in India. Additionally, I embarked on a weight loss journey that tested my resolve and determination. Each step in this journey has taught me resilience and self-discovery, and today, I feel more confident and capable than ever before.

Settling down was not straightforward. With nearly a decade-long academic gap, re-entering the academic world seemed impossible. Yet, I persevered and got into college, proving that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. Finding a part-time job required relentless effort, going from plaza to plaza, but my persistence paid off.

The economic uncertainty and negativity surrounding Canada’s current state nearly made me reconsider my decision. However, the unwavering support and encouragement from Priya Tahiliani and Pranay Joshi, who have been like parents to me, kept me going. My pet, Nikko, has also been a constant source of strength, providing emotional support during tough times.

Watching my parents deal with health issues from miles away has been heart-wrenching. This journey has been an emotional roller coaster, but each small victory, both mentally and emotionally, has made it worthwhile. I am grateful for every experience and lesson learned.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the future and the many adventures and achievements yet to come. Here’s to the incredible journey so far and the promise of more growth and success in the days ahead!
