In my first semester of the Interactive Media Management program, I studied a course titled Emerging Technologies. This course was all about new and exciting tech, especially Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). It was very interesting to learn about these technologies and how they might shape our future.
AR and VR are not just for games. They can be used in many different ways. For example, AR can help doctors during surgeries by showing important information right in front of their eyes. VR can help train pilots by giving them a real-life flying experience without leaving the ground. These examples showed me that AR and VR have big potential in many fields.
In the class, we learned how AR can add digital elements to the real world. This could be anything from fun filters on social media to important data for engineers working on complex projects. On the other hand, VR can create a whole new world that we can explore and interact with. This could be for entertainment, education, or even therapy.
We also talked about the challenges of AR and VR. These include the high cost of devices and the need for powerful computers. But as technology improves, these challenges will become easier to overcome.
One of the most exciting parts of the class was seeing what the future might look like with AR and VR. Imagine going to a virtual concert or having a meeting with people from all over the world in a virtual room. The possibilities are endless.
Overall, this class opened my eyes to the amazing potential of AR and VR. It was a great experience, and I am excited to see how these technologies will change our lives in the future.
